I love having the chance to work with people on their voices. Whither it's getting ready for a recital or just learning new repertoire there's no greater privilege to help someone discover new colours or ideas. Seeing and hearing that improvement is one of the biggest pleasures.
Over the years Iv'e coached at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and given masterclasses at Eton Choral Course and in the Hague in the Netherlands. For the past seven years I've been on the staff at Oxenfoord International Summer School that is headed up by Malcolm Martineau.
I love song, it's my passion from a simple folk song to a Wolf Lied so if you'd like to work on anything with me get in touch... also I happen to live in a beautiful part of Scotland with great views. Well worth a drive to get to!

Jamie MacDougall gave a 2 day masterclass for the amateur singing students of The Koorenhuis, The Hague, The Netherlands. It was a wonderful weekend ! The students felt very comfortable singing for him, and the relaxed atmosphere he created made them feel instantly at their ease. This quite beside the fact that Jamie is indeed an excellent teacher, with a great eye and ear for detail, and a profound knowledge of his subject, in this case the world of folk music within the context of classical song. He prepared himself beforehand in great depth and presented the concert at the end with skill and ease, ending the concert with singing himself as requested. Never easy after 2 days of continuous teaching !
