BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra
A partnership spanning more than two decades
For more than two decades, Jamie has built an enduring partnership with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and its audiences, working with the orchestra as presenter, broadcaster and singer since 2004.
From the much-loved Christmas Classics and Christmas at the Movies concerts to BBC Radio 3 broadcasts, Proms and live concerts from Glasgow, Jamie has been a familiar face and voice alongside the orchestra. He has also presented concerts at the Edinburgh International Festival, anchored the celebrations surrounding the reopening of the orchestra's home at Glasgow City Halls, and hosted major events including the BBC Children in Need concert.
The relationship continues to develop, with Jamie soon taking the stage for Friday Night Is Music Night, the BBC's long-running live music institution.
Across more than 20 years, this work has brought together Jamie's experience as a broadcaster, presenter and performer — and, most importantly, a genuine connection with the orchestra and the audiences who have shared these occasions with him.
